I have always admired abstract art, free of discernable subject or form but find myself impossibly attracted to objects as form. I took the challenge and answered a call for a juried Abstract group show, could I create an abstract using objects in plain sight? Here I explored the use of color and negative space to create an almost Escher-like illusion, can you see it? By placing two Eames chairs stacked with legs improbably intertwined it is easy for some to focus on the two central color fields and not see the subject at first glance. This piece was accepted at the Marin MOCA, mission accomplished!
